Division of the Belt and Road Studies

The Division of the Belt and Road Studies was established in January, 2020. It is one of the newly-established divisions in CASS to implement the General Secretary Xi Jinping's request to accelerate the construction of philosophy and social sciences with China characteristics.
The research of this division is based on the multi-discipline tradition of NIIS, including international economics, international political economy and international relations, focusing on the overall situation of the construction and development of the Belt and Road initiative, with the main mission of developing Chinese system for fields of study, academia and discourse.
Guided by Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese characteristics for a New Era, the division systematically track and carry out theoretical research achievements of the Belt and Road initiative. We participate in many research programs on the policy and practice of the Belt and Road initiative and provide policy suggestions for decision-making, according to the guidance of NIIS. Second, the division also provides expertise for graduate education and public training. Third, the division participates in many international academic dialogues and cultural exchanges on the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative.
