Department of Asia-Pacific Political Studies
The Department of Asia-Pacific Political Studies mainly conducts a comprehensive, in-depth and systematic analysis of the political system and process in the Asia-Pacific region through the method of comparative politics. There are three levels of the research: 1) To study the evolution and development of the Asia-Pacific region as a whole, as well as the factors related to such evolution and development; 2) To examine the political evolution of three subregions of the Asia-Pacific region, i.e. Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia and South Asia, from the perspective of the process of political modernization, political system, party politics and political participation, government and administration; 3) To study the political development and transformation of major countries in the Asia-Pacific region. political modernization process, political system and institutions, party politics and political participation, and government and administration.
