Abstract: Gravity center of India’s regional cooperation strategy, in recent years especially, shows a clear trend of shifting eastward, with "Look East" policy taking a larger proportion. This shift, partly caused by inherent requirement of foreign economic cooperation or trade and partly correlated with China's rapid rise, has an increase in political and security interest compared to the growing importance of economic interest, also reflecting India has high consistency in the aim of “balance China” with its partners. Even so, the eastward of India's regional cooperation strategy remain subject to comprehensive national strength, domestic political situation, security environment in the South Asian and other multiple factors. As a consequence, it may be too early to define future of this development.
Key Words: Regional cooperation; "Look East" policy; constraints
