Abstract: This article applies framework and content analysis to reporting on China from Time from October 1, 1949 to December 31, 2008, and finds that changes in the tone of reporting over the sixty year period correspond with changes in U.S. China relations. This is driven at a deeper level by American national interests and mainstream ideology, which seriously distort and manipulate image of China.
