  Abstract: Zhang Binglin (1869-1936) was a great democratic revolutionary and a colossial scholar in modern times. His social revolutionary docrine and academic notions had received obvious influnce from Indian ideas concerning national revival and independence as well as Indian history and culture. This paper has explored his journalistic covergae of Indian nationalist movement, his views of India and her culture, and his academic connections with this great neighbor of China.
