Abstract:The unbalance of power between nuclear states and non-nuclear states is the most obvious characteristic of international nuclear power system. To safeguard its national interest,India had ever taken three strategic options.Because of the frustration of arms control efforts, the invalidation of nuclear safeguard and the increasing pressure from international nonproliferation,India took the option of nuclearization and transferred to seek open nuclear deterrence. After India’s nuclear test in May 1998,the global nuclear power system will keep on influencing India’s further pursuit of nuclear power.
