The Indian Ocean and the Chinese Strategy for Maritime Security

  Abstract: As the third largest ocean in the world, the Indian Ocean is of vital importance on the Chinese trade lane, resource lane and the strategic lane concerning their safety.At present, there are various kinds of safety hazards and threat which are great threats to China on the Indian Ocean lane.Therefore, China should establish the comprehensive security concept.It includes improvement of the friendly relationship with the neighboring countries, promotion of multilateral cooperation around the Indian Ocean region, the establishment of the long standing institution to guarantee safety on the ocean lane, and reinforcement of the construction of ocean-going navy force of our country.
