Matrceta and His Praise of the Praiseworthy

　　Abstract: This article begins with a preliminary study of the Praise of the Praiseworthy by Matrceta, whose significant body of Buddhastotras makes him an outstanding poet of this genre in Indian Buddhist literature.It is the first time in China for this author to use various Sanskrit fragments and the Tibetan version for reference to translate the Praise of the Praiseworthy into Chinese.The brief commentary is intended to make this translation a basis for further studies of Buddhastotra.
