Abstract: India’s attitude toward US National Missile Defense system has undergone a dramatic change from serious doubt to support. Presently, under the influence of multiple factors, India has adopted a multi-dimensional strategy to develop its own ballistic Missile Defense systems, ranging from purchasing from the United States, Russia and Israel to developing indigenously. India’s efforts to develop missile defense systems will surely exert great negative effects on the fragile security situation in South Asia.
