ABSTRACT: The term New Great Power Relations is used to describe the changing nature and direction of relations between rising states and traditional dominant powers, and represents a new concept for international relations proposed by China. While the concept does not necessarily include relations between China and other rising powers, it is important to consider that within the matrix of China’s foreign policy strategy, India fills an increasingly important position. Thinking regarding how China might shape its diplomatic strategy towards India, and mold the development of Sino-Indian relations might well be identified as an important corollary to the concept of new great power relations.
