The Implications and Features of China-India Political Relations

  ABSTRACT: The simultaneous rise of China and India provides a significant background for analysis of this important bilateral relationship in Asia. Historic experience shows that the rise of big powers could be completed through intensive conflicts, but it could also be accomplished by peaceful approaches, and the latter way seems to benefit relevant powers more. That may be helpful in correctly understanding the implication of the rise of China and India in international political economy, and the tendency of China-India political ties will be a key factor to the outcome of their rise. The essence of China-India political ties is co-survival and co-progress, and whatever its main manifestation, cooperation, competition or even conflict, would depend on some fundamental conditions and factors. In this regard, properly handling the bilateral relationship will urge the two countries to seek the best approaches for their co-survival and co-progress. That is a starting point to analyze China-India political relations.
