ABSTRACT: In the mid-1960s, India, as the third party, made severe rebuke toward China and Pakistan during the process of Boundary Negotiation between China and Pakistan. Meanwhile, India also took some block measures to interfere the course and outcome of the negotiation. However, contrary to it’s expectation, India’s actions actually promoted the boundary negotiation process. This paper strives to make a comprehensive analysis toward the block measure India employed and the actual effect the measure played in a way of making full use of the recently declassified diplomatic archives and the Renmin Daily.
