A Study on Modern Islamist Thinker Maududi’s Political Theory of Islamic State

  ABSTRACT: Maududi was a famous Modern Islamist thinker in the 20th century whose political theory of Islamic state has far-reaching impact upon the Islamic world. This paper elaborates on its principles, concepts and specific content of political system. The core of his theory is based on ten basic principles such as Hakimiyat-e Elahi, Maqam-e Risalat and Tasawur-e Khilafat. Its formation has profound theoretical basis and deep social background. It embodies his political idea of establishing an ideal Islamic state, which faces certain difficulties in political practice.
