A Preliminary Probe into the Political Thought of Mohammad Ali Jinnah

　　ABSTRACT: Mohammad Ali Jinnah was an illustrious modern Muslim politician in the history of the Indian subcontinent and one of the key leaders of the Pakistan Movement. His political thought and practice exerted important effects on the modern political development in South Asia. Combining historical materials and current studies, this paper firstly discusses the basis of Jinnah’s thought, then probes into the sources of the formation of his political ideas, the reasons of his change in political attitude and the contradictions he confronted with as well.
