ABSTRACT: East Asia and South Asia have emerged as two extremely asymmetrical economic regions because of the gap in their levels of development. At present the interregional economic relations are quite weak. The weak economic ties between the two regions is mainly due to the fact that the two sides do not currently belong to the same regional economy, lack cohesion and related industries.Furthermore, the size of the inter-regional economic ties is restrainted by South Asian economic capacity. East Asia’s “west expanding”tendency is the way of solving these problems, its connotation is to take the industrial shift from East Asia to South Asia as a linkage, and join the East Asian independent regional market with South Asia’s industrialization process to realize the economically constitutive connection and the common development of these two high growth areas in the world.
