ABSTRACT:The Caryas (poems) composed by Vajrayanist Siddhas expressed their religious philosophy and experience in their practice. Their writing purpose was to give teachings to disciples and laymen, yet they left historic marks in their works. According to the Caryas we can know that the road they covered is Mahayana—Mantrayana—Vajrayana, including Sahajayana and Kalacakrayana. They overturned Buddha’s tradition in the name of Buddha and prepared the conditions for the withering away of Buddhism in India.
