ABSTRACT: Maududi is a key 20th century theorist of modern Islamic and the author of the 1927 book ¥Jihad Il Islam¥, which discusses the implications, objectives, nature and forms of Islamic Jihad. While his concept of the Jihad has had profound impacts on the Muslim World, surprisingly Maududi’s theory of the Islamic State is not based on Jihad, but instead advocates the peaceful realization of a Muslim society through the dissemination of Islamic beliefs. Only through a comprehensive study and analysis of Maududi’s concepts of Jihad and the theory of Islamic Revolution can we objectively understand modern Islamic philosophy.
