Ancient Sino-Indian Cultural Exchanges:From a Perspective of Imagologie

ABSTRACT: In ancient Chinese works, India was vast and rich, full of sages and men of virtues, kindheartedness and justice, miraculous acrobatics and sorceries, advanced medicine, astronomy and celestial almanac. At the same time, the solid foundation of friendly exchanges between the two countries was constructed with Buddhism as the main vehicle. Some useful ideas can be drawn through the study of ancient Sino-Indian cultural exchanges from a perspective of imagologie.
