ABSTRACT: There is a long tradition of cultural exchange between India and Africa. In recent years, as a means of strengthening relations with the Indian diaspora in Africa and promoting its relationship with the continent, India has placed increasing importance on its cultural diplomacy in Africa. Indias cultural diplomacy to Africa not only transmits traditional Indian culture and strengthens cross-cultural exchange between India and Africa, it does so in a way that supports the development of skills and capacity in Africa and allows for interaction through the media. By exhibiting Indian culture and leveraging both official and civil society involvement, India has strengthened its cultural ties with select African states, and has made great progress in its cultural diplomacy in Africa. As Indias cultural diplomacy deepens, it will strengthen its influence in Africa and its broader relationship with the continent, while also enhancing space for development of commercial and trade cooperation.
