U.S. –China Relations and American Policy towards Afghanistan Post-2014

　　ABSTRACT: In order to realize plans to withdrawal troops from Afghanistan by 2014, the United States is presently enhancing security, political and economic measures in the country, while simultaneously enhancing cooperation with other states in the region. With respect to cooperation with China, the U.S. has both needs as well as outstanding concerns. As far as China is concerned, it should consider the need to maintain stability in its neighboring countries and adopt a more proactive strategy towards South Asia and Central Asia by launching economic cooperation with the United States on an experimental basis.
