Malaysian Senator Visited NIIS

On June 4, 2014, Malaysian Senator Mr Xu Zigen and Prof Wu Zongyu of China Malaysian Research Center visited NIIS. Deputy Director Han Feng met with the guests. Prof. Xu Liping, Assoc Prof Zhang Jie, Assoc Prof Wang Xiaoling, Assoc Prof Wang Junsheng, and Dr Yang Xiaoping were present.

Dr. Xu Zigen introduced the overall Malaysian strategy towards China, as well as ASEAN-China relations in brief. And both sides deeply discussed the bilateral trade and economic relations, South China Sea issue, Maritime Silk Road, Malaysian home politics, and Chinese Malaysian’s political impact on Malaysia. The discussion was open and all the people were sincere.
