National Institute of International Strategy held International Symposium on ‘New Type of Great Power Relations and East Asia International Order’

The International Symposium on ‘New Type of Great Power Relations and East Asia International Order’ was held in Beijing on September 14th, 2013. The International symposium was hosted by the National Institute of International Strategy, CASS, and assisted by the East Asian Institute of Keio University and the South Korean Research Center of Kyushu University. The Great Power Relations Department, NIIS organized the symposium, and was supported by the Japanese Culture Center in Beijing of the Japan Foundation. Scholars participating in the symposium centered their discussions and exchanges on the foreign policies of new leaders in China, US and Japan, the future development of new Type of Great Power Relations among China, US and Japan, and East Asia international order in the future etc. At the conclusion of the symposium, Deputy Director Li Wen observed that the international relations after the Cold War were changing dramatically, the ’ New Type of Great Power Relations’ put forward by China was an important subject, and Chinese and Japanese scholars could have further communications and cooperation on this subject in the future.
